Stephanie is wholly authentic and teaches acting not for prestige or profit, but because it’s her calling. In doing so she is giving actors a gift. She has fostered my growth as an actor, artist, and human over the last several years, and I have stayed with her because I keep having moments of revelation under her guidance. My instrument becomes steadily more flexible and more refined. I keep becoming freer. Her classes are also where I have had felt the truest sense of community I’ve had in my entire life. Her theatre, whether physical or virtual, is my home base as an artist.
After graduating from Loyola Marymount University, The Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre gave me a home. Artistically, psychologically & with my craft - I had a home and a place to work.

Stephanie has given me, and many actors of color opportunities to express, build, create and live on stage here in Los Angeles and on stages in New York.
Stephanie continues the great work and traditions of her family that creates community, clear, profound life on stage and bonds that have lasted my entire life.
When you sign up to spend your time with Stephanie you commit yourself to a truly personal, introspective, magical experience with the theatre. I spent a couple hundred hours in class watching, learning, failing, trying again and feeling good through every step of becoming a more devoted actor. She provides a community based in trust, carried out with love and defined by your own imagination. The friendships I made in class will last me a lifetime, and the inner peace I found while studying something I care about is due to her thoughtful curriculum and dedication to her students. I am always grateful to her, and you will be too.
Stephanie has forever changed my life, giving me the important foundation of self awareness, craft and technique that has helped me become a consistent working actor . Every job I do, I still use what I learned from her. This is not a studio for the half hearted. If you want to go deeper and are willing to do the work, there's no better place you'll be nurtured, guided and met with a fierce love and passion for Acting. I studied with her parents Peggy and Bill for years when I was younger . By working with Stephanie it feels like going home.

She has so much knowledge and insight to how the whole process works and she is so individualize for each person . I am struck by her focus and attention to every detail for each student. Her talent as an actor, director & writer is obvious with everything she says. When working with her you know and trust that her knowledge of film, theater, it is in her bones and soul.
She asked me what I wanted to work on? I asked her to be honest with me. She has done that and continues to do so, she has guided me to a whole other level. leaving,behind all the excess that I don’t need. I feel like I had lost my way and Stephanie reminded of the path. You can never stop learning and going deeper and Stephanie meets you where you are and you go on a journey together in finding the best actor you can be.
I feel like she has all the nuances of an old school teacher from the actors studio but she has modernized her approach. This is a whole new frontier we are embarking on and Stephanie gets it and really has that combination. She teaches you to have the rich inner life and to be free to fly with all the distractions of what is going on in the world. She teaches the actor to adapt to these special times. Also her relaxation method is amazing reminding us that connecting to you body or instrument and breath is so very important.
With Feury, you will dive deep into “the work” learning how to connect and exercise your instrument. I am a stronger artist, connected to my own voice because of her teachings and technique. It is because of Stephanie, I will never forget why I love this work AND for the first time, feel that I truly have the tools and footing to give any role I work on my all. Feury gave me the confidence of knowing what I am capable of and that is something I will always be grateful for.
Choosing to study with Stephanie was the most life changing path in my career. I had previously been auditing and taking every class I could find in Los Angeles. Finally a very wise manager I had at the time said “What kind of actor do you want to be?” I discussed, rather naively, the greatest actors of all time. He said, “Well then, you have to study with Stephanie Feury.”
I’ve grown so much as an actor and have gained so many useful tools. Stephanie is an amazing guide that helps her students understand the principles behind the craft of acting, the psyche of the character, and how to nurture yourself in the process. Over 10 years ago, I met Stephanie Feury. I was lost and didn't know who I was as a person, nor as an actor. She saw things in me, that I didn't see in myself. That to me, is the definition of a great teacher and mentor....Since that time, I have gone off to do many shows, developed characters that I didn't know existed within me. She consistently reminds me to stay committed to what I love and to keep looking for possibilities in unknown arenas.
I've never met another acting teacher who gives 100 percent to all of her students, like she does. Don't miss out!!
Everything I've ever really needed to know about acting, I've learned from Stephanie: How to build my character; emotional work; supplemental literature to reference; who am I; how do I get inside of my body; accents; relaxation; prop work; physical gestures; nailing my audition. You name it, and I promise she and I have worked on it extensively. I have such a vast experience to pull from now thanks to Stephanie and her school, that there is rarely a situation that comes up in my work that I don't know how to expertly approach. This is the foundation that Stephanie has instilled in me. Couldn't recommend her more!

Before I met Steph (and listened to her) my acting was a combination of guessing, fear, luck, and ego. She gave me tools to dig into what’s actually on the page, to understand and continually mine all the clues the writer has laid out. When I get material now I dive right in and get to work and I love acting more than I ever have.
